French Revolution Style and Design

When I was creating the logo, I was influenced by the French Design and also the traditional Barber shop style. The colours of the barber pole and the French flag are the same and I wanted to see how I could incorporate this into the logo and brand.

The target audience for a modern barber shop would be the modern day ‘Hipster’ and so I wanted to look into similar themes in French history.

A theme which is familiar with the French Revolution is the flags and how the students run the revolution and rebellion. I looked at how I could use this into the brand and design of the logo.

Another aspect I wanted to look into was French art and renaissance painting in the modern day.

I created this on illustrator with the paint tool which is the watercolour effect, the flag is to represent the revolution and is a symbol of this and utilises the French design.

When I wanted to look at the typography and font and how this would reflect the brand and style of the barber shop.

The font ‘Old Standard’ is a simple and professional and is familiar of the traditional style.

The name of the brand is long and I wanted to abbreviate the name so it will work with the logo.

This design is abstract and is influenced by the students of the French Revolution which is a style I wanted to experiment with. However, I dont think this works as a logo for a barber shop brand as it doesn’t say anything about what the business does.

I like the idea of using the French Revolution design and the colours which express this, I want to create the logo which also expresses the barber shop brand as well as the French style.
